A picnic table needs braces, or the legs walk.

• Length. 6 feet seats six in a pinch. 8 feet is heavy to move alone.
• Benches. Attached benches are more stable. Separate benches are easier to store and easier to build wrong.
• Top. Leave a small gap between boards so rain does not pool.
