7-1/4" cordless circular saws · Comparison
The short answer
Dust port, longer warranty? Milwaukee
Steeper bevels, deeper 45° cuts? DeWalt
Both are brushless 7-1/4 in. cordless saws with an electric brake, an LED and a rafter hook, sold as bare tools. They cut about the same depth at 90° (2-1/2 in. vs 2-9/16 in.). The DeWalt cuts deeper at 45° (2 in. vs 1-7/8 in.) and bevels to 57° vs 50°. The Milwaukee spins a little faster, has a dust port and vacuum adapter built in, and has the longer warranty.

Tool only DCS590B: DeWalt lists the saw. Battery and charger sold separately.
Check the DeWalt saw on AmazonBefore you buy: I compared the two bare tools. When I checked on Oct 9, 2026, both listings were sold by third-party sellers rather than Amazon, and the Milwaukee listing was in non-retail packaging. Milwaukee’s warranty covers tools bought from an authorized Milwaukee distributor. Listings change, so check who the seller is and that it’s new before you order.

This counts the rows below where one is clearly better. It’s a tally, not an overall rating. The DeWalt’s wins are about angles. The Milwaukee’s are about dust, speed and warranty.
A green check means that number or feature is clearly better. No check means it's a tie, the gap is tiny, or the makers measure it differently. Every figure comes from Milwaukee or DeWalt, not from Amazon.

These are common circular-saw cuts, checked against each maker’s published depth and bevel limits. I haven’t tested either saw. If a cut is past a published limit, it gets a CAN’T.

Depths are the makers’ maximums with a 7-1/4 in. blade. Set the blade about 1/4 in. below the board for most cuts.
How the verdicts were made: depth and bevel limits come from the operator’s manuals and product pages. Nothing here comes from hands-on testing or owner reviews.
4x4: a 4x4 is 3-1/2 in. thick, past both saws’ depth. Cut from both sides or use a bigger saw.
Dust hookup: DeWalt says its optional dust port works with the DeWalt AIRLOCK system or a standard 35 mm dust extractor. The port is sold separately, so the DeWalt gets JUST BARELY.
