A dog house should be just big enough to turn around in.
Bigger is colder. The plan needs the dog’s length from nose to tail, plus a little, and a floor off the ground.
- Door off-center, or with a wind baffle, so rain does not blow straight in.
- Hinged roof makes cleaning possible.
- Cedar or exterior plywood. Bare particle board swells.
